Not much happening today. I almost got excited when she went home for lunch though.
Her big hairy Australian Shepherd, Sadie (Cujo would have been a more apt moniker) found a baby bird that fell out of the bird house and chomped on it. This prompts Katt to yell at the big hairy beast to leave the birds alone. Did Cuj..er Sadie listen? Of course not! This starts a game of chase around the back yard. Thankfully Sadie is fatter and has less stamina than the slightly less out of shape Katt. Katt catches Sadie when the dog lays down to take a breather and pries the bird from Sadie's slobbery jaws.
Stupid move… because now she has a half dead baby bird. She should have let Cujo go ahead and finish the job. Nope, now SHE has to put the poor thing out of it’s misery by stepping on its head as it’s pitifully flopping around on the porch. (The Bird - not the dog) Needless to say, this wasn’t the way she wanted to spend her lunch hour. Scraping birdie brains off her shoe and the porch after a 15 minute game of tag . She wasn’t real happy by the time lunch was over. The dog wasn’t real happy about it either.
So all in all – everyone is a little cranky this Monday morning. : )
Wow, what a wonderful Friday morning in the armpit of Texas!
Since this is fairly new, I should be writing about the principles in Katt’s sphere. But she’s all in a twist this morning over something so stupid that I can’t resist relaying it to you.
She has this sad little addiction to high school football. One of her favorite feeds to that addiction when there isn’t any football actually happening is to spend way too much time on message boards dedicated to… high school football. In all reality, she does this during football season as well. But I digress.
Apparently there has been a pathetic little dust up on one of these message boards. Some genius decides to post anti football sentiment on a message board designed by and populated by football fans. Football is the whole premise for the board’s creation. WOW, who in the world would have thought that would blow up a few skirts? Hello??? That’s like going into a UAW meeting and trying to tell them unions are bad for the economy. No matter who you are – it’s gonna get ugly… fast.
Anyway, my stubborn and obviously bored subject Katt decided to try and explain to this genius why she was getting the somewhat negative (snicker) feedback she was getting. Now most sane people with something productive to do would have let this genius go down in flames and think… “she asked for it, she got it. Pass the popcorn and let’s watch the show.” Oh no, not her. Spectator is not her lot in life. She will argue until everyone but the fence post stops talking to her. (Her Mama always did say she was a born litigator.) If you’ve never had the pleasure, it’s quite annoying to argue with a bull headed Leo who has a pathological need to have the last word. In Katt’s defense, the genius had heretofore been a passing friend and no doubt, she was just trying to help her friend avoid complete and utter humiliation. Didn’t work, but hey – she made an attempt.
Now the soap opera goes from this point off on a long, winding, and frankly stupid tangent for a while. I wasn’t interested enough to pay attention so I’ll fast forward to the part where the genius and two disciples picked up their toys and went home, all the while claiming extreme victimization at the hands of Katt and her keyboard. (She’s a meanie) Of course, two of the three were compelled to give a dramatic farewell speech that would have made Scarlett O’Hara jealous. It’s roundly amusing that adults who make a decision to cease posting on a message board – feel the need to announce their departure. After said farewell speech, they will then continue to return (pitiful isn’t it?) to see who begs them to stay or who tells them “not to let the door hit them in the ass… ”. On occasion, they will absolutely HAVE to make just one more post to “defend” their honor.
Tell me again how humans are the top of the food chain??
What I find most amusing in all of this is Katt’s continued failed attempts to explain to the board et al that debate and disagreement are fun. And those who can’t stand the heat shouldn’t be standing over the stove stirring the smelly cabbage stew. She’ll never learn. :)
Not sure how this will go, where it will go, or even how far it will go. Apparently blogging is an activity that many people find rewarding. I usually prefer to mix it up in back and forth "debate", so this one sided thing is going to take some getting used to. Since I'm talking about someone else, maybe it won't be so weird.
